Introduction

 

WeeWords is a multilingual vocabulary learning app designed for children aged 3 and above. The app uses simple small stories, pictures, and games to teach vocabulary to children. This Privacy Policy explains how WeeWords collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our mobile application (collectively referred to as "WeeWords"). WeeWords is intended to be used by children under the strict supervision and guidance of parents or legal guardians.

Collection of Data including but not limited to from Children under the age of 13

WeeWords may collect and use app usage data, including logs of the actions that a user makes when using the Licensing Application. WeeWords may make use of third-party plugins for collecting and storing such usage data, including Firebase Analytics and Crashalytics (https://firebase.google.com/). WeeWords uses this information for the purpose of improving the Licensed Application and marketing efforts. If the intended user of the Licensed Application is under the age of 13, You agree to provide parental consent to WeeWords for collection and use of this information.

You agree not to provide personally identifiable information of children under the age of 13, such as e-mail ID, to WeeWords through interfaces provided within the software to register for marketing communications. WeeWords has provided the functionality to register for marketing communications only for use by adults including You who are assisting children with the use of the Licensed Application.

 

 

Privacy

  1. WeeWords collects content, communications and other information provided by users when the users use Licensed Application and Services, including while signing up for an account etc. WeeWords is committed to respecting your online privacy and recognizes your need for appropriate protection and management of any information you share on WeeWords. By mere use of the Licensed Application and Services, you expressly consent to WeeWords’s use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this clause.

  2. For the purpose of these Terms, the term “Personal Information” shall mean any information you provide to WeeWords and shall include, without limitation your name, phone number, your e-mail address, your financial information such as bank account or credit card or debit card or other payment details, your email ID and password.

  3. For the purpose of these Terms, the term “Non-Personal Information” shall mean information that does not specifically identify an individual but includes information from you such as the type of internet browser you use, mobile device you use, your computer or your mobile device’s unique device ID, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and your Internet Protocol (IP) address. WeeWords may also collect Non-Personal Information that you voluntarily provide.

  4. Personal and Non-Personal Information together is referred to as “Information”. WeeWords may collect information from you when you register on the Licensed Application through your mobile number and/ or e-mail account, when you use the features, when you participate in surveys conducted by WeeWords and when you carry out transactions on or through the  Licensed Application.

  5. WeeWords may use cookies to monitor usage including, without limitation, to provide useful features to simplify your experience when you return to the Licensed Application, like remembering your login ID and certain Personal Information and to deliver relevant content based on your preferences, usage patterns and location.

  6. You may be also required to provide your credit/debit card details. WeeWords will use this information, such as account and authentication information, and billing, delivery and contact details. For your convenience and if permitted by you, WeeWords will save the credit/debit card details and the billing information in the event you would like to carry out transactions on WeeWords again.

  7. WeeWords collects information about your use of Licensed Application and Service, such as the types of content that you view or engage with, the features used, the actions taken, the time, frequency and duration of the said activities.

  8. WeeWords is required to collect information from and about the computers, phones and other web-connected devices you use and WeeWords then combines this information across different devices that you use.

Information that WeeWords obtains from these devices includes:

  • Information including but not limited to the operating system, hardware and software versions, battery level, signal strength, available storage space, browser type, app and file names and types, and plugins, name of mobile operator or ISP, language, time zone, mobile phone number, IP address, connection speed and, in some cases, information about other devices that are nearby or on user network etc.

  • Information including but not limited to access to beacons and mobile phone masts, access to GPS location, network, camera or photos, data from cookies stored on user devices, storage space or disk on the device etc.

  • WeeWords uses location-related information – such as your current location to provide, personalized and improved Licensed Application and Services, including ads, for you and others. Location-related information can be based on things such as precise device location, IP addresses etc.[1] 

  • WeeWords uses the Information it has to develop, test and improve Licensed Application and Services, including by conducting surveys and research, and testing and troubleshooting new products and features, removing any glitches including technical problems, improving your experience of navigating and carrying out transactions and improving the services and content on the Licensed Application.

  • You also agree that WeeWords can share sponsored content and show ads that WeeWords thinks will be relevant to you.

Sharing of Information

WeeWords may disclose your Personal Information in the following ways:

  • Disclosure to Government authorities or as required by law

WeeWords may share your Personal Information with Government and/or statutory authorities in response to subpoenas, as well as court orders, or other legal processes; to establish or exercise legal rights; to defend against legal claims; or as otherwise required by law. WeeWords warrants that such information will be disclosed only in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Disclosure to Acquirers

WeeWords may disclose and/or transfer your Personal Information to an acquirer, assignee or other successor entity in connection with a sale, merger, or reorganization of all or substantially all of the equity, business or assets of WeeWords.

  • Disclosure to Merchants

When you make a transaction on WeeWords, WeeWords may disclose your Personal Information to the merchant, with whom you have entered into the transaction, to enable the merchant to complete your transaction.

  • Disclosure to Facilitate Payment

In order to process your transactions, WeeWords may direct you to a payment gateway service provider of its own choice, which may have access to the Personal Information provided by you while making such payment.

  • Disclosure after obtaining consent

Notwithstanding anything contained herein, Personal Information can be shared by WeeWords with any third party after obtaining consent from You as well.

 

Protection of Information

  1. WeeWords has taken adequate measures to protect the security of your Personal Information and to ensure that your choices for its intended use are honoured. WeeWords takes adequate precautions to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration or destruction.

  2. It uses industry standards of physical, technical and administrative security measures to keep your Personal Information, on best effort basis, confidential and secure although you agree that the same cannot be foolproof. WeeWords shall not share your Personal Information with third parties, except as otherwise provided in these Terms.

  3. Please note that e-mails, messaging and means of communication with WeeWords are not encrypted, and therefore WeeWords strongly advises you not to communicate any confidential information through these means.

  4. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your username and password. To ensure safety of your Personal Information, you are advised against sharing your username and password with anyone. WeeWords would not be liable or responsible for any breach of this covenant by You.
